MOBELA 150-DII, the mobile siren from HÖRMANN Warnsysteme, is now the only mobile siren we know of that has been certified by TÜV. The TÜV is the technical supervisory association in Germany. The certification confirms that the siren remains firmly on the roof of the vehicle at speeds of up to 130 km/h.
The MOBELA mobile siren is designed for use in cars and vans. It is used where warnings have to be issued quickly and, above all, flexibly or where announcements are required. This was the case, for example, during the Corona pandemic, when the fire brigades used the MOBELA to warn the population of the curfew. In addition to the alarm sounds, the mobile siren can play recorded voice announcements or make announcements via microphone. Its spherical loudspeaker has 360° sound radiation, i.e. to all sides and upwards. The control unit with the microphone is located in the vehicle.
Certification by the TÜV was preceded by extensive tests. For example, the siren was not allowed to fall off the roof during an emergency braking at 160 km/h or during a slalom at 130 km/h. This test was passed with flying colours. The siren passed this test with flying colours. The siren mastered this with flying colours and therefore received a safety factor of 1.6.
