On 14 March 2024, the warning devices will be tested again in the German states of Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia at 11 a.m., including the sirens. Federal states such as North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria have declared a nationwide warning day. Since the last nationwide warning day in September 2023, many new Hörmann sirens have been installed by our fitters. In Recklinghausen, for example, 34 sirens will sound, eleven more than on the last nationwide warning day in September 2023. After a one-minute continuous tone, the sirens will emit an increasing and decreasing wailing tone for one minute and another 60-second continuous tone to sound the all-clear. Other warning channels such as KATWARN and NINA are also being tested. People who are logged into the mobile network in Bavaria or North Rhine-Westphalia with a smartphone that is ready to receive alerts will receive them directly on their mobile phones via Cell Broadcast. The siren will also sound at our headquarters in Kirchseeon, Bavaria, at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
